My name is Aaron Richardson and I am a sophomore studying Bio/Pre-Med at
Boston University.  The reason I am posting this message is because I was
hoping those who read it would be kind enough to take some time and fill
out the questionnaire attached to the bottom of this message.  In class, we
took some time to study a little about homeopathy/alternative and herbal
medicine and even conducted a lab with herbal extracts and whether they
serve as good bactericidal agents or not. As an assignment, we were told to
find and "interview" people who are involved with (study, sell, use)
homeopathy and herbal medicine to get some information and opinions about
this alternative to commercial and/or "standard" drugs and medicines.
If you are involved with homeopathy or herbal medicine or just medicine in
general (study, sell, use) in any way, I would really appreciate it if you
could take some time to help me out with this assignment.  I have talked to
some of the other students and they seem to all be talking to their parents
who are doctors or who use these methods.  I, on the other hand, was hoping
to put together a more objective paper complete with opinions and
information from all over the world (I would be really interested in
information concerning the use of herbal medicine in different world
cultures).
There is just one problem……this paper is due on Monday, October 8th,
1996.  So I would really appreciate it if you could reply before Sunday
evening.
At any rate, I thank you so very much for your time and kindness in helping
me out.  This is sort of an "informal" assignment, but credit will of
course be given to the information I receive.

HOMEOPATHY/HERBAL MEDICINE QUESTIONNAIRE

1) Tell me a little about yourself (Where you study, work, credits,
basically, why you decided to fill out this questionnaire.  Remember, it is
not necessary that you actually work in medicine or science for that
matter.  You may simply use homeopathy or herbal medicine or have an
opinion about it).

2) Where (which newsgroup) did you find this questionnaire?

2)In what way do you deal with or are involved with homeopathy and/or
herbal medicine?

3)Why do you feel homeopathy has made such a resurgence since the 1980s
after years of obscurity (this questions mainly deals with U.S. history as
opposed to world-wide use)?

4)What are your opinions about homeopathy and herbal medicine?  Do you feel
it works?  How?  If not, do you see any merit at all in its use? (Opinions
from all sides are not only welcomed, but cherished)

5)What additional comments do you have (anything else you feel may be of
help, personal stories, etc.)
