Hello Everybody!
I would like you to help me. I am writing you form Central America
where in some countries, like mine, information about aids is not
complete. I would like you to answer me the following question:
My uncle has been detected HIV+ 8 weeks ago, but he doesn’t know where
or when he caught it. His wife and his two children (5 and 10) took a
blood test, but it apparently is negative. My questin is, where can we
be safe, my aunt and my cousins are not infected??? My uncle is now
been thiner, and he is throwing out everything he eats. Is this the
begining of the end?? Or he can be treated so he could be alive for a
couple of years?? The illness was detected to late?? How many more
time i have to expect to be sure my cousins are not infected too?? This
blood test is 100% sure , or they have to be taking the blood test too??
I would appreciate you send me your answer as soon as possible please!!!
Thanks!!

Too answer some of your questions I will speak not as a professional but
as someone who was diagnosed as being positive 8 years ago..
As for where he got it ….who cares. Whats important is what he wants
to do about it and how you and your family can help.
Second you asked where can you be safe….Aids is a virus either
transmitted through blood/sex…in order for your uncle to spread the
virus to another it would have to be by a dirty needle, sex, blood
transfusion, or through a good dose of his blood comming into contact
with anothers (rare). No need to be afraid of him in any way….If he’s
sick..TAKE HIM TO A DOCTOR! No one can help say why he’s sick with the
small amount of info you provided. As for the blood test…better to get
checked again ..not 100% …your cousins if they look or feel sick then
why not get them tested…..aids cannot be transmitted through casual
contact …not a hug…not by a kiss…not by a handshake..and not from
the toilet.Good luck….I hope you use prayer as a tool for strength as
I do……it works Peace!
