David:
Hi! I’m a Hotline volunteer with AIDS Project LA… last month, I attended
a safer sex seminar sponsored by LA Shanti (a local ASO that does great
work)… they presented preliminary data on oral sex transmission, as
gathered in LA by physicians. The numbers were very small and — what else
— a bit contradictory, but it’s the first real survey that’s been done on
the subject in the la area. I don’t have the authors’ names any more, but
you may want to call LA Shanti for more info… you’ll need the department
that coordinates the monthly seminars held at the west hollywood
elementary school (this was the latest seminar, held a few weeks ago…
the one where the school was locked so they had to hold it on the
doorsteps!). Shanti’s number is 213 962-8197. Hope this helps… keep up
the good work. Yours, John Buchin (jdbuc…@earthlink.net) los angeles.
