I had what I would consider some HIV symptoms: swollen lymph nodes
under my arms, soreness, etc..  Not many but enough to make me wonder.
 At the three-month mark past possible infection I had a test — ELISA
— and the results were negative.  My question is this: with symptoms
such as swollen lymph nodes is it likely that a test could be a false
negative?  Recently (eight months later) I’ve been experiencing
swollen lymph nodes again, extra dry skin and a constant stuffy nose.
I was concerned as to what this may mean.  I know the statistics say
that at three months the test is 95 percent accurate, but is that with
or without symptoms?  I’m definitely going to get tested again, but
I’m just trying to gauge how concerned I should be in the meantime.

Just wanted to wish all you old timers and new posters a happy holiday
and let everyone know that I am hanging in there. For those who don’t
know I lost my long term spouse on Nov 17th so it has not been the
greatest holiday season for m but I am doing as well as can be expected
and am visiting family on the west coast until Jan 9th then I will be
closing up my home in DC and moving to WA state if all goes well with
getting ADAP and Health coverage in WA state.
